As third generation owners of our family business, we couldn’t be happier to tell you a little about our family and our history.

In 1947 our Grandfather Edward Arieta, started this business, then called Paramount Pen Company. The company was originally located on Post Street in San Francisco, CA. Edward manufactured pens, pins, medals, trophies, charms and awards, all made of real metal die casts materials and to be hand engraved. In 1952 he moved the business to a building he and his wife Evelyn purchased in San Carlos, CA. They became heavily involved in the school districts helping them with ribbons, cups, trophies, certificates etc. In 1959 they changed the business name to Paramount Manufacturing Jewelry as Edward had shifted his business towards jewelry work, silver plating, hand engraving, medallions, die cast making, tooling, and pantograph work. In the early 1960’s Edward was one of the 12 members that founded the Trophy Dealers Association (TDA), who later changed their name to Trophy Dealers and Manufacturers Association (TDMA) and then again to what is known today as Awards and Recognition Association (ARA) was formed. In 1982 the business made another name change to Paramount Trophies to better identify with the markets current demands. We underwent our final name change again 1982 to Paramount Awards as we are known today.

In 1985, Edward and Evelyn's daughter, Linda Caldwell, joined in ownership of the business after working with her parents since the age of 10. Linda continued to run the business side by side with her father while actively involved in the local chambers, service groups, as well and community clubs. She served her community by continuing to make trophies and awards for the counties, sheriffs offices, schools and other businesses in the greater bay area. After the passing of Edward in 1991, Linda successfully led the business for another 20 years.

In 2001 Linda Caldwell turned the family business over to her son and daughter in law, Chris and Suzanne McNay. We moved the family business from the bay area to the Sacramento Area where Chris was also a full time Captain/Fire Fighter with a local Fire Department. Proudly, we still remain active members of the community we are a part of as well as maintaining many of our long term industry organization memberships. Together these relationships keep us moving forward and involved.

In 2023, we expanded our business to Reno Nevada.  We are excited to additionally serve the Reno area in addition to retaining our loyal long term clients.  Today our two children and their families are very much active participants in the family business and show interest in continuing the legacy.

We pride ourselves on a long history of personal customer service, commitment to quality, dependable service and products with a genuine care for our clients. We sincerely value the many relationships and friendships we have made and continue to make over the years. From our family to yours, we thank you for continuing to support our family and our business.  It wouldn't be possible without you.

Thank you.
